To be honest, it would be unfair to say this is a review about pizzas, for the simple reason I tend to eat very few of them, but where this establishment really scores with me is their kebabs.
Quite simply they are superb, the chicken kebab on chips is to die for, although my only gripe is that I have to eat it in the car as I live in Belfast.
It's worth the diesel for the trip down though, worth every penny! -

This place is situated at the bottom of High Street in Bangor, right in the heart of Bangor's 'Entertainment District'. Located perfectly to attract the locals as they leave the pubs and clubs and looking for their junk food fix. It used to be one of the very few pizza places in Bangor town centre but in recent years it has become surrounded by similar establishments.
Whilst not just as busy as it once was, it still attracts a loyal customer base and now offers a delivery service. From past experience though, I would avoid the delivery as they must take a drive around the Country before actually delivering.
As for the food itself, there in nothing too unusual. A large menu caters for those wanting pizzas, burgers, kebabs, chips. I particularly recommend the Double American burger. But not the Triple one. That is just pure GREED!!!! Sometimes my eyes are bigger than my belly - and that's saying something.
Conclusion : A great place to get your standard run of the mill junk food. Nothing fancy or exciting about the food or the place, but to use a well known quote, "it does what it says on the tin". -

I don't think there's a town in the world that has as many takeaways per capita as Bangor does, a bold shout but I reckon there's one takeaway for every 10 people. You'd think that this abundance of takeaways would mean that Piccola's would be relatively quiet, but you'd be wrong. On a Saturday evening this Pizzeria at the bottom of High Street is jam packed with hungry revelers. Piccola's is packed for good reason - the takeaway has been a staple of Bangor's nightlife for as long as I can remember. Their pizzas are the stuff dreams are made of and their kebabs are as good sober as they are drunk. When I get a takeaway from Piccola's I also go for a chicken kebab on chip with kebab sauce - I can tell you're judging me when you are reading this but honestly don't until you try it - you'll be a convert.
As mentioned Piccolo's is the post 1am destination for half of Bangor's party goers so be patient with the staff if you're visiting in the early hours. -

Best place by far in bangor for a kebab and late night grub!!
Gino and staff are the best about and the fast service is hard to beat! -

Absolutely and utterly amazing and what I would confidently say is the best pizza in the world. That may sound like a bold claim but I really do think it is up there with the best of the best.
This place is amazing to get food after a night out or even to take away for dinner. I always try to ring ahead, they'll tell you it will be five minutes but if you call in about 10-15 after you hang up then you will just walk in and pick up the food straight away.
If you go in often enough they'll get to know your order and are the friendlist blokes in the world. They know me by name and it really makes you want to go back over and over.
It really, really doesn't get much better. Especially if you get a Funghi Pizza or even a Doner Kebab on Chips. The kebab sauce is amazing.
